Pike Withers was commissioned to reimagine the interiors for the $20M refurbishment of Silky Oaks Lodge by Baillie Lodges who purchased the property in 2019.
Set along the banks of the Mossman River amongst the Daintree Rainforest, the project includes the revitalization of the forty two existing luxury treehouses, the creation of a new ultra-premium Daintree Pavilion and a reimagined reception, bar and restaurant.
The luxury treehouses are styled with contemporary furnishings and feature natural timbers and stones. Half the of the suites received full ensuite renovations and the creation of outdoor bathrooms. Two premium Billabong suites feature expanded decks incorporating a circular banquette lounge area suspended over the Mossman River.
By replacing the existing ceiling structure, the new-look main lodge opens to the sights and sounds of the rainforest. A reimagined reception area flows to an expansive restaurant, lounge and bar. A Jungle Perch lounging area extends into the forest canopy. The space also houses the Kubirri Room for quiet reading, private dining and meetings.
Setting a new benchmark for luxury in Tropical North Queensland, the Daintree Pavilion with dramatic skillion ceilings held aloft by glass walls houses two separate sleeping pavilions each offering an ensuite bathroom opening to an outdoor bath. Another pavilion houses a shared central lounge and bar. Extensive decks and an infinity pool tier down towards a private setting on the river.
