In late 2009 Delaware North Australia Parks and Resorts purchased Lizard Island from GPT. Delaware North commissioned Pike Withers during 2010 to undertake the upgrade of the resort. The 40 rooms and suites underwent a major soft refurbishment as did the restaurant, bar and reception lounge.
